# How can I test customizations on a draft checkout profile?

### Overview
Testing customizations on a draft checkout profile allows you to make changes without affecting your live checkout. This ensures that any modifications are thoroughly reviewed before being implemented.

Shopify allows you to use draft checkouts so that you don’t impact your live checkout while you make changes and decide what you want to keep, edit or remove.

When you start your branding customizations, the dashboard will have a drop-down menu to choose the checkout profile to customize:

###### How to create a draft checkout

**Step-by-Step Guide**

1. **Log in to Shopify Admin**
* Access your Shopify Admin panel using your credentials.

2. **Access UpsellPlus Dashboard**
* From your Shopify Admin, go to **Apps**.
* Open **UpsellPlus**.

3. **Create a Draft Checkout Profile**
* Navigate to **Settings**.
* Select **Checkout** from the menu.
* Duplicate your live checkout to create a draft version.

4. **Select the Draft Checkout Profile**
* In the UpsellPlus dashboard, use the drop-down menu to choose the draft checkout profile you created.

5. **Customize the Draft Checkout**
* Proceed with your desired customizations on the draft profile.
* Review and test the changes to ensure they meet your requirements.

6. **Publish Changes**
* Once satisfied, apply the customizations to your live checkout profile.
