# How to get started: checkout upsells & customizations


### Overview

UpsellPlus allows you to add checkout upsells using Shopify’s Checkout Extensions. This guide walks you through setting up your first upsell offer.

###### Step-by-Step Guide

1. Log in to **Shopify Admin**

2. Open the UpsellPlus App
* Go to **Apps** in the lefthand menu
* Click **UpsellPlus** from the list of installed apps

3. Create a Checkout Upsell Offer
* Click **Create Offer** and select Checkout Upsell
* Choose a product to offer as an upsell
* Customize the pricing, discount, and messaging

4. Head to the Checkout Editor to enable and position your upsell
* Choose where the upsell should appear
* Use drag-and-drop to position it within the checkout flow

5. Save

| If you add the app and don't see the upsell appear in the checkout editor, check whether the upsell is activated in the app. Either way, you should see a default preview appear to help you with positioning.
