How to block P.O. boxes using the address validator
Overview
Shipping carriers like FedEx, UPS, and DHL often do not deliver to P.O. Box addresses, which can lead to delivery issues and increased costs for merchants. To prevent customers from entering P.O. Box addresses during checkout, you can utilize the Address Validator feature in UpsellPlus. This ensures that only valid residential or commercial addresses are accepted, streamlining your shipping process and reducing potential complications.

Step-by-Step Guide
Log in to Shopify Admin
Access your Shopify Admin panel using your credentials.
Access UpsellPlus Dashboard
From your Shopify Admin, navigate to Apps.
Select UpsellPlus to open the dashboard.
Navigate to Address Validator
In the UpsellPlus dashboard, go to Customizations.
Click on New Customization.
Choose Address Validator from the list of customization options.
Configure P.O. Box Blocking
Within the Address Validator settings, locate the option to Block P.O. Box Addresses.
Enable this feature to prevent customers from entering P.O. Box addresses during checkout.
Save and Publish Changes
After configuring the settings, click Save to apply the changes.
Ensure that the Address Validator is active on your store to start blocking P.O. Box addresses immediately.
When you select to block a P.O. Box we block the following formats of addresses:
Supported Address Formats
The Address Validator blocks various P.O. Box formats, including:
"PO Box 123"
"P.O. Box 456"
"Post Office Box 789"
"P. O. Box 101"
"po box"
"p.o. box"
"P.O Box"
"PO. Box"
Addresses such as "123 Main Street" or "34 PO Road" are not considered P.O. Box addresses and will not be blocked.
