Step-by-Step Guide

Log in to Shopify Admin
Open the UpsellPlus App

Go to Apps in the lefthand menu
Click UpsellPlus from the list of installed apps

Create a checkout offer

Click Create offer > Checkout

|| Note: upselling to subscriptions in checkout is only available for Shopify Plus merchants. All merchants can use the upselling to subscriptions in cart or post-purchase.

Choose a product in the resource picker that has at least one selling plan in your subscription app

Tick Add as a subscription

UpsellPlus offers two primary methods to apply discounts to upsell products: Shopify Functions and Shopify Scripts. By default, the app utilizes Shopify Functions, allowing you to simply enter a discount value when creating an upsell offer. When the upsell item is added to the cart, the specified discount is automatically applied.

To add a discount to upsells, you can just add in the amount or percentage you want to discount. When the item gets added to cart, the discount will be applied to the upsell.

You can use the latest Shopify Functions or use the legacy Shopify Scripts to apply this discount. By default, the app will use Shopify Functions. This makes it as easy as just entering a discount value and saving the offer.

If a customer modifies their cart in a way that no longer satisfies these conditions, the discount should be removed. This can be achieved by enabling a setting on your Functions discounts inside your offers.

Step-by-Step Guide

**1) Log in to Shopify Admin **

2) Open the UpsellPlus app

Navigate to the offer you want to set up a discount for
Inside the offer, click on the upsell product you want to add a discount for
Expand the product card, scroll down to 'Discount'

3) Make sure you're on the Functions discount and not Scripts

You can switch between the two at the top right of the Discount card

4) Select the conditional discount option

Select the 'Remove discount when smart rule conditions are no longer met' checkbox. This will automatically remove the discount when the smart rules are no longer met:
