How to get more sales from your collection pages (Collection Intelligence)

Collection Intelligence shows how shoppers use your collection pages. It tracks which products shoppers scroll past, click and buy on every collection, compares each product's clicks with what its position in the grid usually gets, and tells you what to change: move a product up, recover it with an offer, or swap it out of a top spot.

  • Where: Collections in the UpsellPlus menu
  • Requires: the Traffic & Browsing Data app embed turned on in your theme
  • Pricing: start a free analysis; one collection is free, and unlocking all collections is a paid add-on

Collection Intelligence grid with hidden gems, products clicked but not bought, and weak top spots

Get started

  1. Go to Collections in the UpsellPlus menu. Until you start, you'll see a demo store with made-up numbers.
  2. Click Start free analysis. Your theme editor opens with the Traffic & Browsing Data embed switched on. Click Save there to finish.
  3. Wait for data. Findings appear once products have enough clicks to be reliable, and firm up as more shoppers browse. Data shows the day after shoppers start browsing.

What to change: the three findings

Finding

What it means

Suggested action

Hidden gem

Shoppers click it more than its position predicts, but few scroll far enough to see it

Move it up in Shopify

Clicked, not bought

Gets plenty of clicks but rarely ends up in an order

Recover with an offer (for example a recently viewed offer)

Weak top spot

Holds a top spot but gets fewer clicks than that spot usually earns

Swap it out

Findings are based on the last 28 days and are directional.

What else you'll see

  • KPIs: collection sessions, sessions that clicked a product, orders from shoppers who browsed collections, how many product views were below row 10, and products to review
  • Where shoppers click: click rate by grid row, on mobile and desktop
  • The grid, as shoppers saw it: page 1 of a collection, with each product colored by whether it gets more or fewer clicks than its spot predicts
  • How shoppers arrive: sessions, clicks, add-to-carts and orders by landing source (paid social, search, email, SMS, affiliates and more)
  • Campaigns and ads: top campaigns (utm_campaign) and ads (utm_content) by collection sessions, and their most clicked products
  • Most clicked by paid traffic: what paid-ad shoppers click, compared with everyone else

Filter by date range, device (mobile or desktop) and channel.

Act on a product

Click a product in the grid or table to see why it was flagged, then:

  • Move it up in Shopify / Reorder in Shopify: opens the collection in Shopify
  • Create a recently viewed offer: bring it back in the cart and at checkout for shoppers who viewed it
  • Feature in a cart offer

Pricing

  • Free: pick one free collection; everything on it is unlocked.
  • Paid add-on: unlock all collections and channel insights for a monthly price based on your online orders in the last 30 days. It's added to your UpsellPlus bill (on annual plans, billed yearly).
  • Cancel anytime from the Collections page. Access lasts until your next billing date.

FAQ

Why don't I see any data?
Check that the Traffic & Browsing Data app embed is on in your theme. Data appears the day after shoppers start browsing.

Does it change my collection order automatically?
No. It tells you what to change; you reorder in Shopify.

How is "position" measured?
By the row a product appears in on page 1 of the collection grid, separately for mobile and desktop.
